Cuttack: Former Mahanga MLA Bikram Keshari Barma succumbed to post COVID-19 complications while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. He was 81.
Barma was elected as MLA to Mahanga Constituency in 2004 elections on a BJD ticket. He was also the chairman of Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation Ltd. He was also popular for his leadership in school education.
Condolences poured in from different quarters for the departed soul soon after news of his demise surfaced.
Expressing deep grief, Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena said Barma was a simple, soft-spoken and true-hearted person. He will always be remembered for his developmental works in Mahanga Constituency.
