Angul: An elephant fell into a pit at Balijereng village in Angul district on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the pachyderm fell into the pit around 2 am. On being informed by locals, Forest Department staff and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and initiated an operation to rescue the animal.
Till last reports came in, the elephant was yet to come out of the pit.
