Nayagarh: An elderly man was allegedly crushed to death with a stone in a farmland near Dianpada village under Nayagarh Town police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Prahllad Jena (65). According to reports, he had gone to his farmland last evening to guard the crops.
As he didn’t return this morning, his son, suspecting foul play, went to the farmland and found Jena lying dead with grievous injuries.
On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A case has been registered in this connection and investigation is on.
