DL/LL & VAHAN services resume in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: After suspending Driving License (DL) and Learning License (LL) services for over four months due to COVID-19 pandemic, Odisha Government has finally resumed the services bringing respite to the applicants.
Now people can visit the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to avail the services.
In a letter, the State Transport Authority (STA) has issued necessary instruction to all RTOs, Additional RTO (ARTOs)s of Barbil and Rairangpur and Khurda ARTO for resumption of the services.
• All RTOs are authorized to allow the persons/applicants having appointments for the
DL/LL & VAHAN services may enter the office premises under your jurisdiction.
• To maintain uniformity in the slot durations, all RTOs are hereby directed to fix slot
duration as half an hour for DL/LL services.
• Moreover, the per slot quota and no. of slots for the DL/LL services may be decided
& fixed as per the infrastructure and volume of applications of each office under your
control.
• All RTOs are authorized to allow persons to avail RC related services like Transfer of
Ownership, Renewal of RC and Fitness Certificate etc.
“However, utmost care must be taken to maintain proper social distancing and sanitization of the premises. Persons without mask should not be allowed, the STA said in the letter.
Earlier, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the General Administration and Public Grievance Department had banned entry of outsiders in Government Offices until August 31. Only the Office staff and persons authorized by the Head of the Office were allowed to enter the office premises.
