Dense fog engulfs twin city, vehicular traffic affected

Bhubaneswar: A dense fog engulfed the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Wednesday morning reducing the visibility in both the cities.

Traffic and vehicular movement were severely affected on the roads and national highways in the twin city as visibility reduced below 30-40 metre.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday had predicted shallow to moderate fog at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Khurda and Dhenkanal today.

Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and weather most likely to remain dry over the rest districts of Odisha on March 3, the Met Centre had said yesterday.

Similarly, fog- shallow to moderate is likely to occur at Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack on March 4.

“No large change in both maximum and minimum temperature over the districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days. The maximum (day) temperature is likely to be above normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius at many places in Odisha in the next 4 to 5 days,” the Bhubaneswar Met Centre had stated.
