Dengue spreads tentacles in Cuttack; 8 cases detected

Cuttack: After Bhubaneswar, dengue has started spreading its tentacles in Cuttack with eight new cases of the mosquito-borne disease reported from various parts of the city.

Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) health official Satyabrata Mohanty informed that few of the identified dengue patients have Bhubaneswar link.

“We have also created a special dengue ward in SCB Medical College and Hospital, where the patients are being treated,” he informed.

Meanwhile, 23 new cases of dengue have been reported in Bhubaneswar in last 24 hours, taking the tally to 505.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials have visited 5,366 houses and collected health data of 22,260 persons.

” While 1,390 dengue mosquito breeding places have been removed, larva have been detected at 588 places. The BMC health team will visit various wards from today and collect data required to control further spread of the disease,” BMC sources said.
