COVID tally crosses 10,00-mark, 571 cases reported in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally on Tuesday crossed 10,000-mark after 571 fresh positive cases were detected in the state in the last 24 hours. The tall now stands at 10,097.
Of the total fresh cases, 403 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres while 168 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Health and Family Welfare department.
The cases have been reported from 21 districts: Angul (4), Balasore (28), Bhadrak (1) Balangir (5), Cuttack (29), Dhenkanal (1), Gajapati (56), Ganjam (273), Jagatsingpur (17), Jajpur (16), Jharsuguda (1), Kendrapada (3), Keonjhar (7) Khurda (37), Mayurbhanj (14), Nabarangapur (7), Nayagarh (1), Puri (4), Rayagada (10), Sambalpur (6) and Sundergarh (51).
With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 3557. While 6486 patients have recovered in the state so far, 42 succumbed to the virus. Besides, 12 COVID patients have so far died due to other health complications.
In the last 24 hours, 5546 COVID-19 samples were tested. So far 3,30, 2780 tests have been conducted in the state.
