Covid cases in Odisha drops to 3806, but 37 more deaths reported

Bhubaneswar: The number of deaths due to Covid-19 continues unabated with 37 more patients succumbing to the virus in Odisha in the last 24 hours even as new infection dropped significantly to 3806 in the State.
As per the data shared by the State health and family welfare department, Cuttack, Jharsugauda and Kalahandi reported four deaths each while Bargarh, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Sundergarh registered three deaths each.
Similarly, Bolangir, Deogarh, Kendrapara, and Rayagada reported two deaths each while Gajapati, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, and Sambalpur reported one death each.
With this, the death toll due to Covid-19 soared to 3,508 in the State.
On the other hand, 2172 of the total new cases detected in the last 24 hours were from quarantine while remaining 1634 local contact cases.
Khurda reported highest number of new cases with 617 persons testing positive while Cuttack reported 393 cases, Jajpur 346 and Balasore 220.
