Bhubaneswar: With resurgence of COVID cases creating panic among people for possible imposition of lockdown/night curfew in Odisha, the State Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Saturday cleared the air saying that no such decision has been taken yet.
Speaking to media persons, SRC Pradeep Jena said, “No decision has been taken on imposing night curfew in Odisha.”
However, the official cautioned that COVID has resurged in Odisha and the second wave has begun in some States of the country.
In view of increasing number of COVID cases, he said that with strict frisking, the COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced in the State in coming days.
He said that the State has already imposed restrictions on celebration of Dola and Holi festivals. The district administrations and SPs have been asked to strictly enforce the rules to contain spread of the virus.
“The virus still exists and it has made a comeback. We are on alert and have kept vigil on people visiting Odisha from high risk States. The air passengers are undergoing thermal screening at airports and the Sarpanches have been asked to share details of persons returning from various States,” Jena added.
