Coronavirus at its peak, Odisha reports highest single-day hike of 3861 cases

Bhubaneswar: With coronavirus at its peak Odisha reported 3861 fresh positive cases, highest single-day spike so far, following which the state’s tally surged to 1,27,892 informed the Government.

Khurda recorded highest 767 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (386) and Jajpur (285).

Of the total fresh cases detected from 30 districts and state pool, 2278 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1583 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 30,919. However, 96,364 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that total 45,165 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 21,43,566 tests have been conducted in the state.
