Cop in vigilance net in Berhampur

Berhampur: The Berhampur Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested a sub-inspector of police for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000.

The accused has been identified as Sidharta Kumar Gouda, cadet sub-inspector, Jagannath Prasad Police Station in Ganjam district.

As per reports, he had demanded the amount from one P. Raja Senapati to settle a dispute complaint. Senapati lodged a complaint with the vigilance, following which a trap was laid to nab him.

Gouda was caught red-handed while he was accepting the bribe amount from the complainant. The bribe amount was recovered and seized from his possession.

A case has been registered in this connection and investigation is on.
