CMC declares old Rausapatana as containment zone in Cuttack

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Monday declared parts of Old Rausapatana in Ward No 27 as containment zone following detection of five new COVID-19 positive cases in the area.
CMC Commissioner Ananya Das in a notification has released an indicative sketch map of the area for general awareness. As per the notification, all vehicular and personal movement within the containment area will be prohibited. All the shopping establishments in the area will also remain closed with immediate effect.
However, supply of all essentials and medical services in the area to be provided by CMC constituted teams, the CMC notification stated.
“CMC will ensure the supply of essentials for all the citizens in this zone.” Milk, vegetables and glossaries to be made available for the public by the dealers notified by CMC,” the civic body said in a tweet.
The civic body has urged the inhabitants within the containment zone to stay at their homes and abide by the guidelines. “This decision has been taken in the larger public interest to contain the further spread of COVID-19,” the CMC added.
Notably, the CMC lifted the extended shutdown across the city on Sunday. However, the weekend shutdown will continue to remain in force till 31st July.
