CBI team at Sushant Singh’s home in Mumbai for investigations

Mumbai/ New Delhi: A special CBI team is at Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s home in Mumbai as the investigations by the central probe agency, which was told by the Supreme Court to take over the actor’s death case, enter the second day.

Two key witnesses in the death case – a staff member of the actor and Siddharth Pithani, Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend – have been taken to his Bandra home for the probe.

Photo and scientific division of the CBI’s Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) will record the recreation of events on the day of death- June 14.

Sidharth Pithani was Sushant Singh Rajput’s flatmate and is also described as his “creative manager” in some reports. He calls himself an actor and filmmaker too. He was earlier this month summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, which is probing the alleged money laundering linked to the death case.

Earlier today, the staff member of the actor- a cook – was questioned for the second consecutive day by the CBI at the office of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Other staff members and some friends of the actor, who was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14, are also likely to be interrogated in the case.

A four-member team forensic team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will visit Mumbai next week to examine Sushant Singh Rajput’s autopsy report.

“Our priority will be to examine the case in murder angle and overall all the possible manner of death” Dr Sudhir Gupta, Head of Forensic Medicines, had told on Friday.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death left thousands of his fans in shock and fuelled massive speculation, controversies and conspiracy theories.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that the CBI would take over all investigations into the Sushant Singh Rajput case, asserting that “an impartial probe is the need of the hour”.
