Soro: In an unfortunate incident, a bus carrying stranded migrants met with an accident claiming one life and injuring 20 others near Jamujhadi Chhak under Simulia police limits in Balasore district on Wednesday.
The deceased was the bus driver, whose body has been sent post-mortem.
Sources said the bus was en-route to Bihar’s Patna from Puducherry carrying around 50 migrants Tuesday night. Midway, the bus severely hit a stationary truck on roadside near Jamujhadi Chhak on NH-16. While the driver died on the spot, 20 others suffered injuries.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body to hospital for post-mortem. The police have started investigating into the matter and have seized the vehicle.
