Cuttack: In view of rising heat in some parts of the State, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Wednesday allowed change in timings for valuation of answer sheets of Matric students in six districts.
The BSE allowed valuation work to continue from 7.30 am to 11 am and entry of marks till noon in Bolangir, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Baragarh and Sambalpur districts.
Worth mentioning, the District Education Officers of the six districts requested the BSE for change in valuation of timings. Following this, the BSE accepted the requests and allowed the change of valuation timings so that examiners do not suffer the piercing heat.
In the letter to the DEOs, the BSE Secretary stated all should be advised to take personal care to avoid the heat wave.
The evaluation of answer sheets of Matric examination started from May 26.
Today, 14 places of Odisha including the ones in western districts recorded 40 degrees Celsius or above.
