Balasore: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on WEdnesday busted a major drug smuggling racket and seized brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore near Laxmannath check gate in Jaleswar area of Balasore district.
The cops also arrested a youth identified as Sheikh Munaf Hussain and are questioning him in this connection.
The STF team from Bhubaneswar was camping in Jaleswar area for the last two days. Acting on a tip-off, the cops conducted a raid and seized 1.5 kg brown sugar from the youth, said sources.
