BMC issues guideline for Lockdown 4.0, Malls to remain shut

Bhubaneswar: With Lockdown 4.0 coming into effect to contain the spread of corona virus in the capital city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday ordered 11 multi-storeyed shopping malls not to open until further orders. However, the civic body allowed stores selling grocery, vegetables and medicines existing in these malls to operate.

This apart, the BMC said all government and private offices within the structure of these malls will be allowed to function.

While releasing guidelines for the Lockdown 4.0, the BMC stated Esplanade One in Rasulgarh, Forum Mart in Satyanagar, BMC Bhawani Mall in Sahid Nagar, Central Shopping Mall in Sahid Nagar; Pantaloon Mall in Sahid Nagar, Reliance Super near Railway Station, BMC Kesari Mall, Unit-2 Market, Symphony Mall, Rudrapur, DN Regalia Mall, Patrapada and Krishna Plaza Mall, Nayapalli will not be allowed to open.

In its regulations, the BMC said hotels, motels, lodges, guest houses and other hospitality services will not allowed except those used for housing health, police, government officials, healthcare workers, stranded persons and those used for quarantine facilities.

Canteens at bus depots, railway stations and airports will not be allowed. Restaurants shall be allowed to operate for takeaway and home delivery purposes only, the regulations added.

All religious places or places of worships will remain closed for public and religious congregations. This apart, schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutions will be closed.

Sports complexes, stadia and other facilities will be permitted to open and sports activities are allowed for sportspersons and players. However, spectators will not be allowed.
