Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar reported 149 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 3217, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday.
Of total fresh cases, 98 cases have been detected from different quarantine centres while remaining 51 are local contacts.
As per the data shared by the BMC, highest 19 cases, including 12 females have been reported from Kandha Sahi in Siripur area. All the cases are linked with an earlier positive case. Besides, 11 persons, including an 11-year-old boy and three women from Salia Sahi have tested positive. All of them are linked with earlier positive cases.
With detection of the new cases, the city’s active cases rose to 1254. However, 1943 patients have recovered while 18 succumbed to the deadly disease so far. Further contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said the BMC.
