Bhubaneswar reports 137 new COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar reported 137 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday.
Of fresh cases, 113 have been detected from quarantine centres and 24 are local contacts.
As per details of new cases shared by the BMC, Salia Sahi, one of the major slums in Bhubaneswar, reported 10 more patients to the COVID-19 tally inBhubaneswar. The new infected persons including 6 women are linked with an earlier positive case.
Similarly, 9 cases (all females) have been detected from Bhimpur in quarantine centres. Another 15 persons linked with previous positive cases in two slums located at Ganganagar and Unit-8 areas have tested positive for the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
With 137 fresh cases, the COVID-19 tally in the city jumped to 3354 with 1273 active cases.
Meanwhile, 2061 persons infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease with 118 recoveries on August 4. The virus has claimed 18 lives in the city so far.
