Banpur declared containment zone in Khurda district

Khurda: In view of the increase in COVID-19 positive cases in Banpur NAC of Khurda, the district administration on Saturday declared the NAC as Containment Zone for two days to prevent spread of the virus.

With this, public and vehicle movement has been strictly prohibited in the NAC. Except a few medicine stores, all other shops and business establishments will remain closed during the period. Meanwhile, nodal officers have been appointed for various works, including contact tracing and follow-up action.

Worth mentioning, after a brief lull, rising number of positive cases are being reported from Khurda in the last couple of days. Around 20 positive cases have so far been reported from Banpur area.  Today, nine positive cases were reported from Khurda district, including 2 from Banpur.

On the other hand, Mallick Sahi and Jena Sahi  under Penthapal Panchayat and Khamaganbindha under Marsaghai Panchayat in Kendrapara district  have been declared as Containment Zones. The administration declared the Containment Zones following reports of 10 new positive cases.
