Attempted lynching in Bhubaneswar, police to suo motu register FIR
Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police to take suo moto cognizance of the attempted lynching of the two persons accused of the broad daylight murder in CRP square area of the Capital city on Saturday.
As per reports, the two accused were forcibly dragged out of a police van by a mob that brutally thrashed them using plastic pipes and raining blows and kicks at the CRP square, seriously injuring them.
Later, they were rushed to a hospital and their condition is reportedly stable now.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Das said that the police will suo moto register an FIR and take stern against those involved in brutally thrashing the two murder accused.
Those, who have thrashed the duo, will be identified on the basis of video footage and statement of PCR staff. The DCP further urged people not to take the law into their hands.
Earlier in the day, the two reportedly hacked a youth to death with sharp weapons at the busy CRP square.
