Actor Bijay Mohanty back in Bhubaneswar, admitted to Care Hospital

Bhubaneswar: After a long journey of around 22 hours in a special ambulance, veteran actor Bijay Mohanty reached Bhubaneswar from Hyderabad on Sunday morning.
Mohanty was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad since May 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Soon after his arrival in Bhubaneswar, the actor was admitted to Care hospital where his follow-up treatment will continue.
“His blood pressure and pulse are normal and we have been monitoring his health condition since he started journey in the special ambulance from Hyderabad. He has been taken to emergency ward for preliminary examination and will be shifted to ICU,” said the medical superintendent of Care Hospital.
“After examining him properly, we will be able to say something about his health condition. However, his vitals are stable,” added the medical superintendent.
Though the number of doctors to be deployed in Mohanty’s treatment has not been confirmed yet, critical care and emergency teams are expected to treat the actor, said sources.
Meanwhile, senior Ollywood actors and members of Odisha Cine Artistes’ Association including Sritam Das, Usasi Mishra and Puspa Panda visited the hospital to inquire about Mohanty’s health.
“Our association will extend all possible help and support to Bijay Mohanty in his treatment. He loves his motherland and bringing him back to Odisha will help him recuperate faster. We hope he will fight back,” said Sritam Das, Ollywood actor and President of Odisha Cine Artistes’ Association.
A few days ago, the actor had expressed his willingness to return to Odisha and continue his treatment, but due to the lockdown restrictions, he had to stay in Hyderabad.
