2239 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Odisha; nine more die

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to witness a steep rise in COVID-19 cases with the State reporting 2239 new positives in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 64,533. The death toll has risen to 362 as nine more patients succumbed to the virus.

Of the new cases, 1,416 were reported from quarantine centres and 823 are local contact cases.

According to Information and Public Relations department, Khurda reported highest 419 cases, followed by Ganjam with 246 cases, Nayagarh (147), Balasore (130), Rayagada (120) and Cuttack (117).

With the spike in COVID-19 cases, the active case count stands at 20,339, while 43,779 have so far recovered from the disease.
