166 new COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally is inching towards 4,000-mark in Bhubaneswar with 166 fresh Covid-19 positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Of new cases, 98 have been detected in quarantine centres and 68 are local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday.

A total of 322 COVID-19 cases have been reported from Khurda district in the last 24 hours, of which 166 are from Bhubaneswar.

The slums in Bhubaneswar continue to become a worrying factor for the local authorities as maximum number of positive cases are being reported from there.

As per the details of fresh cases shared by the BMC authorities today, 17 more persons linked with a previous case have tested positive for COVID-19 in Salia Sahi area.

Similarly, 13 new cases including 8 females linked with an earlier positive case have been detected in a quarantine centre in the city.

Meanwhile, 113 persons infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the total recovery count to 2473 in Bhubaneswar. The virus has claimed 19 lives in the State capital so far.
