1643 fresh COVID-19 cases in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as 1643 persons in Odisha tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 44,193 informed the State government.
While 1018 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 625 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The fresh cases have been reported from 28 districts. Khurda district registered highest 274 cases. Three districts- Rayagada, Sambalpur and Sundargarh reported over 100 cases.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 15,189. However, 28,697 patients have recovered in the state so far.
In the last 24 hours, 17,444 swab samples were tested. So far 6,34,090 tests have been conducted in the state.
