14 crew members of ship docked at Paradip port test COVID-19 positive
Paradip: Amidst resurgence of Coronavirus, as many as 14 crew members of a cargo ship docked at Paradip port tested positive for the deadly virus in Paradip.
All the infectees have been shifted to a COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.
According to reports, the cargo ship ‘Yasa Mars’ had reached the Paradip port three days ago from Tuticorin port in Tamil Nadu. A few crew members of the ship were found symptomatic for Coronavirus when they submitted the self declaration as per the COVID-19 guidelines. Later, all 28 staff underwent RT-PCR test, of which 14 tested positive for the virus.
Source said that all the positive persons of the ship have been sent to Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening for treatment. The ship has been sanitised and the remaining 14 staff have been asked to quarantine themselves on top cabin of the ship.
