1320 fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Odisha; Ganjam tops the list with 560 cases

Bhubaneswar: As many as 1320 new coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours in Odisha, taking the State’s COVID-19 tally to 24013 on Saturday. This is for the third consecutive day that State continued to register 1200-plus COVID-19 cases.
The fresh cases have been reported from 24 districts- Angul: 6, Balasore: 23, Bargarh: 14, Bhadrak: 28, Balangir: 9, Cuttack: 47, Deogarh: 1, Gajapati: 90, Ganjam: 560, Jagatsinghpur: 3, Jajpur: 23, Jharsuguda: 2, Kalahandi: 1, Kandhamal: 39, Kendrapada: 1, Keonjhar: 24, Khurda: 174, Koraput: 30, Nayagarh: 38, Nuapada: 4, Puri: 90, Rayagada: 65, Sonepur: 1 and Sundargarh: 47, Informed the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Health department informed that as many as 12,733 samples were tested in last 24 hours in the State. Of the 1320 new COVID-19 positive cases, 887 are quarantine and 433 are local contact cases.
Earlier, Odisha had reported a record single-day spike with 1594 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday. Of the new cases, 1067 were detected from quarantine centres while 527 were local contacts.
