1 killed, another critical as Shramik Special train hits two in Rourkela

Rourkela: One man was killed and another railway employee critically injured after the two was hit by a Shramik Special train on Saturday near the STI railway gate in Rourkela town.
The deceased was identified as Birasa Munda of Mudhusudan Pali. Following the incident, the railway police recovered his body from the railway track.
The injured railway employee, Hussain Hasar is a resident of the railway colony in the area. Hasar’s both legs were severed in the train mishap. Besides, he sustained critical chest injuries. Hasar was rushed to the Rourkela ISPAT General Hospital for treatment.
Sanjoy Ghosh, Chief Public Relations Officer of South Eastern Railway said, the injured person is a railway employee and the deceased was passerby. They were trespassing at the STI railway gate when the incident occurred on Saturday morning.
However, a case has been registered by the Government Railway Police in Rourkela and police are investigating the matter.
