Bhubaneswar: In yet another bus accident, one person was killed and 10 persons were inured on Monday night as the bus carrying migrant workers from Andhra Pradesh met with an accident near on NH-16 near Kuhudi in Khurda district.
Accoring to police sources, the private bus bearing registration number AP-02TA-0954 was on it was to Banki in Cuttack district with 40 Odia migrant workers when it met with the accident. The driver of the bus died on the spot, while 10 others were injured.
The bus bus hit a mango-laden truck from rear and as the bus was at a high speed the collision had a big impact. It is suspected that the driver must have lost control of the wheels and hit the truck.
Later, police and fire service personnel from Tangi rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers of the bus. The injured have been admitted to Tangi hospital and undergoing treatment. The district administration arranged another bus for transportation of the migrant workers.
This the fourth such incident in the state.
